I am a professional editor, proofreader, copywriter, and message conveying expert.  I offer a range of services. I can package bundles in with multiple rounds of editing, complete one full developmental round, a line edit, or just a proofread. I edit all genres.​

  • Interactive Editing:  This is a bonus that includes the three rounds of editing: developmental, line, and final proofread - plus 12-weeks of one hour phone meetings with Mystique and author/writing coach Kim McPherson, to go over the editing and writing process. This is to help develop the author’s voice and story, while ensuring all questions and concerns regarding editing are fully worked out. This gives the chance for the author to be more interactive with their editing, instead of just questions via email after the edits are completed. This allows the author a front row seat to the editing and writing process. In return giving the author knowledge and experience to grow their writing, while knowing what to expect and how to enhance and develop their writing style and voice in future projects. How this differs from just editing, is the author gets in depth contact, mentoring, and real time feedback with the editor and writing coach. This is a great educational experience for newer writers who need confidence, knowledge, and are still developing their writing style.

  • Developmental Editing: Full developmental edit to help with plot, consistency, tone, substance and structure. I recommend this to be a first round of anyone's manuscript. This helps make sure the story is complete, consistent, doesn't contain major questions or plot holes, and is fully polished. Also, checks spelling, grammar, punctuation. Helps make sure scenery, meaning, descriptions, and more are well written. Making sure your reader can be immersed in your story. Also, checks for message conveyance.
     

  • Line Editing: Detailed line by line edit of manuscript. This is a mixture of copyediting/line for me. I check each line to make sure after story is finished, it's well polished. Checking fine points of grammar, punctuation, style. Help with style of writing, that sentences come across with meaning, and scenery is well written. Doesn't help with plot or story structure.

  • Sample edits available. I can do a sample edit for you to see if our styles work well. This would include a chapter edit. 2500-3000 words. $75

Proofread only option is checking for grammar, spelling, etc. No plot enhancing, just polishing your words and grammar. Price will be discussed with the author and locked in based on word count. Checking that the manuscript is polished as best as possible and ready for publishing. No story suggestions, enhancements on writing, etc. Just correction for grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

   *Disclaimer: Please note that I require a 50% deposit at the time of booking your slot/date with me. This deposit is non-refundable and ensures you're locked in that date, and your book will be edited per our agreement. This ensures that your book is completed on time, and if you miss your submission date, your book will be pushed back to the next available date. Authors that pay their deposit and submit on time are the top priority.
